Belastingdienst
Overview
The Belastingdienst – officially known as the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration, is the national tax collection and enforcement authority of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Operating under the Ministry of Finance, it is responsible for levying and collecting taxes, enforcing tax laws, and combating tax fraud and evasion.
In addition to its core fiscal duties, the Belastingdienst oversees the Fiscal Information and Investigation Service (FIOD) — a specialized unit dedicated to investigating complex cases of financial crime, tax evasion, money laundering, and other forms of fiscal fraud.
